The third palace complex that we visited was Doeksugung. It is much smaller than the other two more major palaces but it has an interesting history. It was used on and off since the 1400's but some parts seem newer. It was the residence of the royal family at times and today it sits in the middle of the city surrounded by skyscrapers and traffic - away from the tranquil settings of the other palaces.
